Fall Leaf Decorations

Autumn is one of the prettiest season that nature has blessed us with. It is often signified by fallen leaves, pumpkins and other orange colored ornaments. This list will be showing leaf-themed decors that you can try for this fall. Get creative! Celebrate this delightful season with home-made crafts.

1. Leaf Wreath

 

As leaf-like this wreath is, it’s actually made of aluminium cans. The aluminium cans are cut out following a template board using metal snips. The leaf pattern is embossed with a stylus before spraying them with colored paint. The leaves are later glued on a circular board to make the wreath shape. This isn’t only nice as decorative to welcome the autumn season, it’s also a cheap way to upcycle drink cans.

2. Autumn Leaf Mason Jar Candle Holder

Mason jar is one of the cheapest thing you can get from a dollar store. It is versatile to be used in all sorts of craft related project. In this DIY, we will be making a nice candle holder out of it. Note that you can actually use any transparent jars. You can use real leaves or thin fabric leaves. For real leaves, dampen them will make them more flexible. Choose thinner leaves as it allows light to pass through. Alternately, you don’t have to entirely cover the jar with leaves. Leave some gaps. For the finishing touch, tie the neck of the mason jar with rafia. This is a very nice warm idea to be put at the front porch.

3. Fall Leaf Book Page Banner

Make way for this family fun crafting project that you can do with your kids. It’s a good chance to head on out and pick up colorful foliage from the ground. Next will require the sacrifice of old unused books. A piece of leaf will be glued on the top of these pages. You can use a hemp cord or rafia to put up your crafts. You can decorate the walls with this fantastic piece of work.

4. Leaf Bowl

Leaf bowl is an amazing art for display at your thanks giving table. It’s also an exciting project that you kids can have fun with. All you need is balloon, leaves and white glue. The balloon will be inflated. Leaves will be glued around it to form a bowl shape. Make sure to let it dry completely before popping the balloon off. It can take up to 2 days for complete drying. But, it’s gonna worth all the wait. The bowl isn’t that strong but it should be good enough to store candies for coming Halloween.

5. Autumn Leaf Branch Mobile

This cool display of branch mobile is made with papers. The leaf shaped papers are cut out before painting them with water color. After that you can opt to emboss it with an embossing folder and Big Shot machine. Using a stylus too is probable to create the leaf’s vein. Finally, secure them onto the branch via threads and you’re done! Put this on display by an empty wall and your home will look all ready for autumn already.

This is another design for outdoor decor. It is shaped like a wind chime. You can probably attach a wind chime along with it for extra sound effects.

6. Autumn Leaf Fairy Lights

This is probably one of the easiest idea in the list but it looks stunning! You’ll need wax paper to preserve the leaves. Sandwich the leaves between two sheets of wax paper and iron it. Make sure it is well coated before gluing them into each of the fairly lights. Decorate the front porch with this handy work and bring out the color of the season!

7. Fall Leaf Roses

Real roses are expensive! Why spend a fortune in perishable roses while you can craft one for yourself? Using papers maybe a popular option. In fact, there’s countless tutorials out there on the internet on folding roses with paper. However, they seem to lack a natural texture that breathes life to it. How about we craft them out with leaves? Make a few stalks of these and put them on short twigs using florist tapes. They make a fascinating decor that money can’t buy.

8. Fall Leaf Tree

Let’s make something bigger for a change? Something like this mesmerizing fall leaf tree. Tomato cage is used as the frame for the fall leaf garland to wrap on. Then, wrap it around with fairy lights. The beautiful bright lights reflected by the orange color of the autumn leaves gives out a warm orange glow that really suits this beautiful season.

This DIY will require a clear vase or any transparent container. Wrap fairy lights and autumn leaf garland around a simple frame. Then, slide them into this clear vase. The lighting are beautiful and it’s clean. Using real leaves pose a risk of detachment. Sometimes, insufficient glue is applied and it detaches easily. You don’t have to worry about falling leaves from your DIYed garland if you put everything in a vase!

10. Lighted Autumn Centerpiece

A table deserves a centerpiece that brings out the autumn vibe when you’re dining with your loved ones. This craft may look like it’s gonna take up some space. However, you can choose smaller baskets for this.
