Easy Ways Of Sealing Plastic Food Containers

You open up an XL sized bag of chips and binge watching the entire season of Games of Thrones for the 3rd time. A few hours passed  and your mouth started to get tired of the chips. You realized you’ve reached your limit. Most of us will probably put it in a plastic container but there’s actually an origami trick that could ease all of that. So, read on!

1. Origami Bag

Resealing your plastic food container has never been this easy with this simple origami trick. Now you don’t have to worry about finding pegs or tapes to reseal your bag of chips. There’s one trick that uses baby wipes to reseal the chips but we think that might take too much effort. This origami trick is what we think is the most practical idea out there.

a. Layout the bag of chip as such:

b. Fold one side of the flap at an angle.

c. Do the same for the other side.

d. Fold them down.

e. Continue to fold few more times.

3. Reseal Plastic Bag With Iron

Keep your food stuff fresh with this easy resealing trick. Be sure to wrap the plastic part with aluminium foil before ironing. Otherwise, the plastic will melt. There is a similar trick using hot knife. You just heat it up and do the slicing motion as how you would when you want to cut things. Be sure to use the blunt side of the knife. You also might have to wait for the knife to cool off a bit before attempting to reseal it properly because it will melt the plastic.

4. DIY Milk Jug Food Box

Don’t throw your milk jug away. You can easily make a nice bread box with the steps below. It may not look that elegant, but it does the job well. Besides, you can save a couple of bucks.

The bread box provides an exoskeleton to protect your sandwich. But, the box isn’t air tight and it doesn’t provide protection against crawly ants. So, it might be better if you seal the sandwiches in a plastic bag before putting them into this container. That way, you can have more protection and not to worry about flattening your sandwich in your bag.

6. Resealing Food Jar With Balloon

Most jar lids are made of metal but some are made of plastic. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the jar lids might be broken or lost and you can’t find another container to store your food. That’s when this trick comes in handy. Here’s how:

  1. Blow a balloon up.
  2. Press the balloon against the opening of the jar while slowly releasing the air.
  3. Release all the air while keep pressing on as above.
  4. The balloon will wrap tightly around the jar.

Then, you can proceed to put the jar back into the fridge as if nothing happened.
